I was excited to visit The Residence Inn Amelia Island as this was a new city that I’d never visited before and it was also a new property for me to experience as well. During this summer, I have been making my rounds at different hotels across the state of Florida to assess the similarities and differences in quality, policy, and procedures during COVID-19. Upon entering the hotel I immediately saw a hand sanitizer station which made me pleased. The desk agent was friendly and very helpful during the check-in process. She explained what services had been modified during this time. There would be no housekeeping and breakfast was grab and go style. The pool was open, but the fitness center was closed. All staff members that I encountered wore masks. Once I entered the room it appeared to be clean and spacious. The staff and management were very friendly especially the night auditor manager (I can’t remember her name). The property was very close to the beach and I though that it was a great location. I would recommend this property for those who are looking for a room with extra space and/or would like a room with an option to cook your own food so that you can stay inside and reduce your exposure to other people.
